The Map of the Regional Development Measures and Incentives Register (RegRDMI Map), which provides a comprehensive overview of the development of the domestic economy and which contains the annual data for 2024, has been published by the Serbian Business Registers Agency.

The investment of the state and its institutions in the development of the economy and non-profit sector, i.e. regional development incentives, are presented on the RegRDMI Map according to purpose, users and implementers, as well as the type of financial incentive and territorial allocation of funds.

In addition to data on incentives, the RegRDMI Map includes data from other registers maintained by the Agency and data taken from other state bodies and organizations. Moreover, the RegRDMI Map contains key data on the economy and non-profit sector (structural indicators, indebtedness, illiquidity and financial performance), as well as basic data (area, population, average salary, GDP, number of employed and unemployed, etc.), in total and by territory, for the previous four years, in tabular and graphic form and available in Serbian and English.

The total realized incentives in 2024 amounted to RSD 346.4 billion, 22.3% more than last year. The share of non-refundable funds amounted to RSD 328.4. billion (94.8%), of which RSD 200.9 billion was allocated to non-refundable subsidies. Compared to the previous year, subsidies were increased by 24.9%.

According to the purpose of investment, 85.7% (RSD 296.9 billion) of the total realized incentives were directed to: encouraging agriculture (RSD 120.1 billion); education, science, culture and sports (RSD 55.1 billion); traffic infrastructure (RSD 47.0 billion); encouraging manufacture (RSD 31.2 billion); encouraging scientific research and development (RSD 26.7 billion) as well as energy infrastructure (RSD 16.8 billion). The investments in the afore-mentioned areas were increased by 28.2% compared to last year.

Of the total realized incentives, the largest part was directed to agricultural households, i.e. RSD 118.7 billion (34.3%), then to companies and sole proprietors - RSD 118.0 billion (34.1%), to institutions in the field of education and science - RSD 61.8 billion (17.8%) and to local self-government units - RSD 31.6 billion (9.1%). Compared to last year, there was a significant increase in incentives given to agricultural households (approximately 2.5 times more).

The data presented on the RegRDMI Map is a particularly useful source of information for potential investors and regional development entities, in the process of making decisions on incentive investments aimed at strengthening the economy of a particular territory and raising the level of competitiveness of the economy in that territory, all with the aim of reducing uneven regional development. Prior to investing in a particular territory, investors are interested in obtaining and reviewing, both the characteristics of the achieved economic development and the potentials for the development of the selected territory (development level of the municipality, population, qualification structure of the unemployed, etc.).

By performing the appropriate search, users can obtain data in the form of data sets for all four territorial levels (the Republic of Serbia, regions, districts, and municipalities). All data published on the Map is available to users free of charge.
