On 14 February 2008 in Belgrade, the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the SBRA signed a Donation Protocol on the “Project for the Improvement of the Business Processes of the Business Registers Agency of the Republic of Serbia”, worth USD 3.2 million.

The donation that is intended for upgrading the SBRA’s existing administrative capabilities provides support for establishing a one-stop-shop business registration system in the SBRA; integration of SBRA Registers; setting up a Foreign Direct Investments portal; e-Archive; and Information Hub, as well as procurement of IT equipment and training of SBRA personnel in the Republic of Korea and Serbia.

Subject donation of KOICA was implemented from 2008 to 2010. It has significantly contributed to further enhancement of cooperation between the two countries in the field of ICT technologies.

SBRA's Membership in the European Professional Associations

The European Commerce Registers’ Forum (ECRF) is an association of 30 official company registration authorities from 29 European countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Guernsey (UK), Gibraltar, Hungary, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Jersey (UK), Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Montenegro, The Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

The objective of the Forum is to upgrade administrative, technical and practical procedures of business registers, setting up standards, exchanging ideas, holding conferences and establishing working groups.

SBRA became a member of the Forum in 2005. From June 2007 to June 2008, the Agency was a presiding ECRF register, while SBRA Director, Mr. Zvonko Obradović, was a President of the Forum’s Steering Committee.

During its one-year presidency over the Forum, the Agency organized and hosted two annual ECRF conferences:

  • 3rd XBRL conference (Belgrade - January 18, 2008); and
  • 11th Annual ECRF Conference and General Assembly (Belgrade - June 19 – 20, 2008).

From June 2008 to June 2009, the Agency was a vice-presiding ECRF register, while Mr. Obradović was a Vice-President of the Forum’s Steering Committee.

SBRA continues its active participation in the Forum. Since June 2010, the Forum is presided by Germany (Ministry of Justice of North Rhine-Westphalia).

The 14th Annual ECRF Conference and General Assembly session were held in Bonn, from 20-22 June 2011.

At the end of October 2010 in Belgrade, the SBRA hosted the General Meeting of the European Business Register (EBR), a network that electronically connects national business registers from 26 European countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guernsey, Ireland, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Netherlands, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, United Kingdom).

Serbia, through the SBRA, has been a member of this organization since 2007 and was technically integrated into this network on 1st July 2009. The European Business Register network enables its members to share information on more than 20 million official records on registered companies from 22 countries of the European Union and 4 non-EU countries, including Serbia. The partners integrated into the EBR network share information stored in their electronic registers, thus providing easy online access to official data on registered companies to any interested party in Europe, directly from the source – each EBR member country’s official register.

Non-European Professional Organizations
