Mandatory electronic incorporation of companies as of 17 May 2023
On 17 May 2023, the provision of Article 9, paragraph 2 of the Law on the Registration Procedure with the Serbian Business Registers Agency entered into force, and from this date on, it is no longer allowed to submit a paper application for the incorporation of a company (LLC, JSC, GP and LP). The application can be submitted exclusively in electronic form through a special user application (except for companies that are incorporated through a change of status and for sole proprietors who continue to perform their business activities in the form of a company).
Other legal forms that are registered in the Register of Business Entities (cooperatives and cooperative associations, public enterprises, branches and representative offices of foreign companies) can still be incorporated in the previous manner (in paper form). However, for those who so wish, the submission of an electronic application is also available as a registration option.
