The Law on Foreign Endowments and Foundations (RS Official Gazette, No. 88/2010), regulates the registration of representative offices of foreign endowments and foundations in the Register of Endowments and Foundations kept by the Serbian Business Registers Agency (SBRA), as a delegated task of the Ministry of Culture. Representative offices of foreign endowments and foundations with registered office in the Republic of Serbia are subject to registration with this Register.
This Law began to apply on 1 March 2011. Representative offices of foreign endowments and foundations that were established in Serbia before the application start date of this Law are required to comply with it and to file an application for registration with the Register of Representative Offices of Foreign Endowments and Foundations within 12 months from the application start date of this Law (by 1 March 2012). Representative Offices that fail to apply for registration within the prescribed deadline will not be allowed to continue operating in the Republic of Serbia.
Representative offices of foreign endowments and foundations do not have legal entity status of a legal entity.
