Instructions for Register database search

The Pledge Register’s database can be searched using four basic search criteria, these are:

  • pledger
  • pledged asset
  • application filing number in the Pledge Register (Zl. br.),
  • owner of the pledged asset (the new owner shall be registered if the owner of the object of pledge has been changed after the registration; it shall be the obligation of the pledger and the new owner to register this information).

Search by pledger

If the database is searched by pledger, the search criteria vary depending on whether the pledger is a natural or legal, foreign or domestic entity.

  • for a Serbian national, enter name and surname and/or personal ID number (JMBG)
  • for a foreign national, enter name and surname and/or passport number
  • for a domestic legal entity, enter company name and/or registration, i.e. company code
  • for a foreign legal entity, enter company name and/or company code in the foreign company register.

PLEASE NOTE: When searching by business name of the business entity, you should also search the database by the business entity’s registration number/company code.

PLEASE NOTE: When searching by parties to a pledge, if the party is the owner of a small business (sole proprietor), a twofold search must be performed: by natural person search criteria and by business entity search criteria (sole proprietorship’s name).

The database search by the owner of the pledged asset is performed in the same way.

Search by pledged asset

If the database is searched by pledged asset, the search criteria will depend on the type of asset.

For pledged assets that have a registration number, the search criteria are:

  • registration code/number
  • mark
  • type/model
  • chassis number (if any)
  • engine number.

Search criteria can be entered individually or collectively.

For pledged assets that do not have a registration number, for instance, machinery or equipment, the search criteria are:

  • mark
  • type/model
  • production code/serial number.

Search criteria can be entered individually or collectively.

For art objects or valuables, the criteria are:

  • type/name
  • author/producer.

Search criteria can be entered individually or collectively.

If the pledged asset is an animal, the search criteria are:

  • detailed definition,
  • species,
  • ear tag number,
  • registration code/number,
  • passport number
  • animal ID number

Search criteria can be entered individually or collectively.

If the pledged asset is a share, the criteria are:

  • registration number, i.e. code, of the company whose shares are pledged
  • name of the company whose shares are pledged.

*When searching the database, you must check the data contained in the share list displayed on the search engine’s interface.

If the pledged asset is an agricultural product, the search criteria are:

  • crop name,
  • type/class,
  • variety,
  • cadastral municipality,
  • cadastral lot number,
  • municipality,
  • city,
  • street,
  • number.

*When searching the database by cadastral lot number, please enter the primary number only (without the sub-number).

Search criteria can be entered individually or collectively.

Search by ZL. number (ZL. br.)

When searching the database by ZL. number, enter the number assigned by the Serbian Business Registers Agency (i.e. the so called ZL. No). Enter only the хххх/хх format, without the addition of –х.

PLEASE NOTE:

When searching the database, in addition to filtering the search by pledged asset, it is recommended that you also filter the search by pledger. You may want to take into account that some pledged movable assets can be entered into the Register as part of a set of movables. In such a case, the details on each movable asset are not entered in the database individually but are typically contained in the application supporting documents, such as the report on the inventory and value assessment, specifications and similar. In such cases you may contact the Archives Department of the Serbian Business Registers Agency and schedule an appointment to access the case files of a particular case.
