The data registered in the Pledge Register can be searched by four basic criteria, as follows:

  • the parties to a right of pledge,
  • the owner of the object of pledge (the new owner shall be registered if the object of pledge has changed its owner after the registration of the right of pledge; it is the obligation of the pledger and the new owner to apply for registration of this information).
  • the object of a right of pledge,
  • the number under which a registration application is filed in the Register (“Zl. br.”).

Search by the parties to a right of pledge

If the database is searched by the pledger, the search criteria vary depending on whether the pledger is a natural person (domestic/foreign national) or a legal entity (domestic/foreign):

  • For a domestic national, it is necessary to enter the first and last name and/or the unique master citizen number (“JMBG”);
  • For a foreign national, it is necessary to enter the first and last name and/or passport number;
  • For a domestic legal entity, it is necessary to enter the business name and/or the registration number;
  • For a foreign legal entity, it is necessary to enter the business name and/or the designation under which it is kept in the foreign register.

NOTE:

When searching the data by the business name of a business entity, it is necessary to also perform a search by the registration number of that business entity.

When searching by the pledger who is a natural person who owns a sole proprietorship, a twofold search should be performed: by the search criteria applicable to natural persons and by the search criteria applicable to business entities (sole proprietorship).

Data search by the data on the owner of the object of pledge is performed in the same way.

Search by the object of a right of pledge

If the database is searched by the object of a right of pledge, the search criteria depend on the type of the object.

For the object of a right of pledge that has a registration number, the search criteria are:

  • registration designation/number;
  • mark;
  • type/model;
  • chassis number (if available);
  • engine number.

The search criteria can be entered individually or collectively.

For the object of a right of pledge that does not have a registration number, the search criteria are:

  • mark;
  • type/model;
  • production designation/serial number.

The search criteria can be entered individually or collectively.

For an art object or valuables, the search criteria are:

  • type/name;
  • author/manufacturer.

The search criteria can be entered individually or collectively.

If the object of a pledge is an animal, the search criteria are:

  • closer description;
  • species;
  • ear tag number;
  • registration designation/number;
  • passport number;
  • animal ID number.

The search criteria can be entered individually or collectively.

If the object of a pledge is a share, the search criteria are:

  • the registration number of a company whose shares are the object of a pledge;
  • the name of a company whose shares are the object of a pledge.

*When searching, it is necessary to check the data contained in the list of shares displayed on the search engine’s interface through which the share search is being accessed.

If the object of a pledge is an agricultural product, the search criteria are:

  • crop name;
  • type/class;
  • variety;
  • cadastral municipality;
  • cadastral lot number;
  • municipality;
  • place;
  • street;

*When searching the database by cadastral lot number, please enter the primary number only (without the sub-number).

The search criteria can be entered individually or collectively.

Search by the “ZL. br.”

When searching by the “ZL. br.”, it is necessary to enter the number assigned by the Serbian Business Registers Agency (the so-called “ZL. br.”). The only format to be entered is хххх/хх, without the addition –x.

NOTE:

When searching by the object of a right of pledge, it is desirable to also perform a search by the pledger. It should be borne in mind that some movable assets that are the object of a pledge might have been registered as part of a portfolio of movable assets. In such case, the details on each of the movable assets are not entered individually in the database, and the precise data on them are usually contained in the application supporting documents, such as a report on the inventory and value assessment, specifications and the like. In such cases, you may contact the Archives Department of the Serbian Business Registers Agency to schedule an appointment to examine the case files of a particular case.

Data search of the noticeboard – Initiated settlement procedures and out-of-court sales

The noticeboard displays notices on the initiated settlement procedures and notices on the place and time of out-of-court sales published since 7 May 2019, when the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Pledge of Movable Assets Registered in the Pledge Register (Official Gazette of the RS, No. 31/2019) came into force.

The published data can be filtered by the following data:

  • the pledger: for a domestic national – the first and last name and the unique master citizen number (“JMBG”); for a foreign national – the first and last name and the passport number; for a domestic legal entity - the registered business name, i.e. the name and the registration number; for a foreign legal entity – the business name, i.e. the name and the designation under which it is kept in the foreign register;
  • the file number – the “Zl.” number of the case file under which a right of pledge is registered, or the the “Zl.” number under which the published notice is filed;
  • the date of publication of the notice.

A published document can be accessed by clicking on the appropriate link in the table, while the complete overview of the registered data and all published documents can be accessed by clicking on the main file number (“Zl. br.”) under which the pledge right is registered.
