The Registrar of the Company Register Miladin Maglov attended the E-Government in Serbia conference. The conference addressed the potentials of practical application of IT in the central government and local administrations and was organized by the Danas daily Conference Center in the Hyatt Hotel, Belgrade, on 20 October.

In his presentation on Electronic Registration for a Cheaper and More Efficient Government, Miladin Maglov talked about the Serbian Business Registers Agency’s experience in setting up the Company Register as an integrated electronic and centralized database on registered companies and sole traders in the Republic of Serbia.

He also announced the imminent implementation of the one stop shop registration system. With this system, the citizens will be able to submit their documents for company registration at a single reception desk in SBRA. SBRA will subsequently exchange data with other government agencies and institutions that are relevant for starting a business. Further decline in the number of procedures and forms will bring savings not only for companies, but also for the state administration, while communication between different state institutions will be streamlined in the process.

The Registrar of the Company Register underscored that for full implementation of the online registration procedure, electronic signature should be brought to bear as soon as possible.

Beside SBRA representatives, the E-government conference was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Public Procurement Administration, USAID Serbia, local authorities of Inđija and Niš, as well as representatives of Oracle Serbia, SAP Serbia and Com Trade Group.
