Business entities, civil sector entities and entrepreneurs, who are already registered with the Serbian Business Registers Agency and who meet the conditions prescribed by the Law on Social Entrepreneurship will be able to register the status of social entrepreneurship as of 15 November 2022.

Entities which have the status of social entrepreneurship perform activities of general interest, in order to create new and innovative opportunities for solving social problems, problems of individuals or socially sensitive groups and preventing the emergence and elimination of the consequences of social exclusion, strengthening social cohesion and solving other problems in local communities and society as a whole.

The realized profit is invested in the integration of socially sensitive groups, environmental protection, rural development, education, culture, social innovations and other areas of wider social interest and is realized especially through the manufacturing of goods and the provision of services (social, educational, health, etc.), work integration, business that contributes to the sustainable development of devastated areas and local communities, and business that provides solutions to problems in other areas of general interest.

Based on the application submitted to the competent Register (Register of Business Entities, Register of Associations…), in which the entity is already registered, the Agency will then carry out the procedure for registering the status of social entrepreneurship, on the basis of which legal entities and entrepreneurs have the opportunity to obtain benefits and exemptions in accordance with the regulations governing taxes, contributions for compulsory social insurance, fees for the use of public goods and other types of monetary obligations.
