The Map of the Regional Development Measures and Incentives Register (RegRDMI Map) has been published today by the Serbian Business Registers Agency. The Map displays sets of information on state investments, economic development and economic potentials, containing the semi-annual data for 2022.

The data presented on the RegRDMI Map show that the implementing authorities of regional development incentives have managed to implement incentives in a significant amount in the first half of 2022. The total realized incentives in the first half of this year amounted to RSD 88.8 billion. The share of non-refundable funds in the total realized incentives amounted to RSD 71.7 billion (80.7%), which is an increase of 14.8% compared to the same time period of the previous year.

Of the total realized incentives, the largest part was directed to the economy, i.e. RSD 49.0 billion (55.1%) to companies and sole proprietors and RSD 14.1 billion (15.8%) to agricultural farms. A significant number of incentives was also paid to institutions in the field of education and science, in which RSD 16.1 billion was invested, i.e. 18.2% of the total realized incentives.

According to the purpose of the investment, approximately 83% of the total realized incentives (RSD 73.7 billion) were directed to: traffic infrastructure (RSD 23.5 billion); education, science, culture, and sports (RSD 19.1 billion); encouraging manufacture (RSD 17.0 billion), as well as encouraging agriculture (RSD 14.1 billion). Investment in the mentioned areas was increased by 39.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The Map provides key data on the economy and the non-profit sector, integrated from different sources (state authorities and organizations, as well as other registers within the Agency’s competence), in order to provide a comprehensive overview of the development of the domestic economy (in total and on a territorial level), for the current year and the past three years, in the form of tables and graphs.

The information presented on the RegRDMI Map, where all municipalities in the Republic of Serbia are displayed according to the achieved level of development pursuant to the current regulation, is a particularly useful source of information for potential investors in the Republic of Serbia. Prior to investing in a particular territory, they are interested in obtaining and reviewing, both the characteristics of the achieved economic development and the potentials for the development of the selected territory, starting from the size of the territory, population, qualification structure of the unemployed, as well as other elements of the territorial development. It is also useful for regional development entities in the process of making decisions on incentive investments aimed at strengthening the economy of a particular territory and raising the level of competitiveness of the economy in that territory, all with the aim of reducing uneven regional development.

All data published on the Map is available to users free of charge. By performing the appropriate search, they can obtain data in the form of data sets for all four territorial levels (the Republic of Serbia, regions, districts, and municipalities).
