Slightly more than half of the positive net result of the entire economy was achieved by companies from the Belgrade region. These companies made a net profit of RSD 223 billion, which has risen by 24.4% compared to 2019. This region also recorded the largest increase in the number of employees, counting 543,692 workers and so making up 44.6% of the total number of employees in the economy.
The region of Vojvodina achieved a high positive net result of RSD 91.1 billion which, however, decreased by 12.7% compared to the previous year.
Companies from the Region of Šumadija and Western Serbia operated more successfully as well. Their net profit, amounting to RSD 60.2 billion, increased by 10.4% at the annual level, and this was accompanied by a rise in the number of employees (+7,435). Overall, companies from this region employed a total of 223,747 workers.
The most dynamic growth of profitability was achieved by companies in the Region of Southern and Eastern Serbia. The positive net result of this region was 2.6 times higher than last year and amounted to RSD 58.8 billion.
After last year's loss of RSD 1.5 billion, companies from the region of Kosovo and Metohija reported a net profit of RSD 409 million.
