Over half of the positive net result in 2022 was achieved by large companies. These companies achieved a total profit of RSD 455.8 billion, which is an increase of 66.1% compared to 2021. The growth in profitability was accompanied by an increase in the number of employees - 27,770 more compared to the previous year, and this segment of companies was the only one to record an increase in the number of employees.
The most intense increase in the positive net result was attained by micro-sized companies, which make up 85.5% of the total number of companies. Micro-sized companies reached a profit of RSD 42.8 billion, which is 2.8 times higher compared to the previous year, but the business operations of these companies were accompanied by a decrease in the number of employees by 11,769. Thus, this segment recorded the largest decrease in the number of employees in comparison to other sizes of companies.
Small companies realized a profit of RSD 168.8 billion, which grew at a rate of 5.1%, and medium-sized companies also recorded a positive net result which was 15.9% lower, amounting to RSD 196.7 billion. Both small and medium-sized companies recorded a decrease in employment of 1,118 and 9,508 employees, respectively.
