The Serbian Business Registers Agency is the winner of the award "Best Registration Practice 2023" given by the Archival Society of Serbia. This award is given for exceptional contribution and commitment to the preservation of archival and documentary material, compliance with archival regulations and cooperation with the competent public archive.
On 11 October, the award was presented to Tatjana Kikić, the archival advisor and head of the Agency's Archives, at the VII International Archivist Conference in Kuršumlijska Banja.
At the proposal of the National Archive of Serbia, the Commission of the Archival Society of Serbia decided to award the award for the best registration practice to the Agency for the overall attitude and commitment of the creator to the preservation of archival material and documentary material of exceptional importance for the region and the country. The Commission explained their choice: "The SBRA’s archival and documentary material has been completely organized, properly inventoried and duly archivally marked, and the organization of the accommodation space and business documentation of the creator clearly shows that the cooperation with the competent archive is also outstanding, which sets their registration practice apart from others as the best."
In addition to archival and documentary material produced by the Agency, the Agency’s Archive stores archival and documentary material taken over from commercial courts, ministries and other institutions of the Republic of Serbia, dating from 1945 to the present day. Documentation from the registers and records kept by the Agency are stored in written and electronic form, in a purpose-built and adequately equipped building at Ulica oslobođenja 1B, in Belgrade, where all interested parties have access to the archive and where copies of documents can be issued.
With this recognition, respect was also paid to our dear colleague Slavica Narandžić, the first head of the Agency's Archives who left us too soon, and who, with her efforts at the Agency and at the National Archive of Serbia, improved the procedure for the protection of archival and documentary material and left a noticeable mark on national archival science.
